“Christmas in New Prague” Coming in December to New Prague Golf Club
“Christmas in New Prague,” featuring four of the six main performers from the Christmas shows in December 2024, returns in December with nine dinner/shows at New Prague Golf Club. The shows are being produced by the new non-profit New Prague Arts Foundation (NPAF). Bishop Investments of TrueJourney is again the presenting sponsor.
“We are thrilled to announce the second year of our holiday Christmas show for New Prague,” said Den Gardner, one of the returning performers and chair of the NPAF. “With the many smiles on faces from last year’s attendees, this is just the type of family entertainment the foundation plans to present in New Prague in the years ahead.”
Co-producers of the show in 2024, Den and Dan Gardner will be joined again in the cast by New Prague’s Randy Fierst and Belle Plaine’s Bill Halverson. Lisa Dolezal, local performer and long-time Little Chicago vocalist, joins the cast. Another female performer will also join the group.
Mike Todryk, guitarist/singer(and also a member of Little Chicago), will perform pre-show holiday music and also be part of the show, appearing occasionally in certain acts.
“The support from the community by patrons attending the show, plus our sponsors all returning indicates we are moving in the right direction to provide arts entertainment for New Prague,” Gardner said. “And anyone who supports our show also supports our new arts foundation. It’s a win-win for our supporters and our foundation.”
In addition to Bishop Investments, other renewing sponsors for this year’s show include: Bruzek Funeral Home, Shimota Project Management, Mike/Kay Wilcox, and Minnwest Bank. Also, media sponsors the New Prague Times and KCHK Radio are partnering with the “Christmas in New Prague” show.
Attendees this year can expect a similar-type show (with tweaks) as music, comedy and a Christmas reading will entertain the crowd. A meal will be served to attendees or, like last year, attendees can just purchase tickets for the show. “The reception from the public for last year’s show made it a must to bring it back for a second year and years to come,” cast member Dan Gardner added. More than 450 attended the show last year.
“It’s a great way for New Prague area residents to see local artists again perform and give an early start to Christmas festivities,” Gardner said. “Matinees and/or evening shows are scheduled Dec. 7-14. EXCEPT DEC. 13. Details will be more available in the spring and summer. We are excited to produce the shows at New Prague Golf Club.”
