Music at the POPS 2027

Summer Concert Series logo

We are planning a GRAND OPENING for the new POPS facility for June 5. There will be many activities, culminating with a free concert by Viva Knievel, a popular band from the Twin Cities. Watch this site for more information as it becomes available.

Music at the POPS (formerly Music at Memorial and Music at the Broz), the free summer music concert series in New Prague, is set for its sixth year of performances, beginning in June. There will be concerts in June and August this year, all on Wednesday nights. (See below for information on a special series of Tuesday night concerts in July.) These concerts are produced by the New Prague Arts Foundation.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we are again this year able to present a series of free concerts for the community. They will continue to be held on Wednesday nights so we don’t interfere with other events. Summer concerts in surrounding communities are common on Wednesdays or Thursdays.

Previous years’ concerts were a huge success in New Prague. The performances drew 200-400 people each week during the summer. Some of last year’s bands are returning and several new groups are joining the lineup.

“The reception from New Prague residents has been wonderful the past years,” said Den Gardner. “The success of these shows proved to us that a permanent outdoor performance facility was needed.”

“The arts are so important in these turbulent times to bring people together for a common cause,” Gardner said. “And we couldn’t do this summer concert series without the support of our sponsors. Thanks to the sponsors listed above.

As in previous years, attendees at the free concert each week are asked to bring their lawn chairs and blankets, along with their own food and beverages if they wish. “The New Prague Arts Foundation wants these concerts to be family–friendly affairs,” said Gardner.
